ABA and Snowball the Dancing Bird Part II

By thebehavioranalyst

As mentioned before, this bird Snowball is fun to watch and has been doing more dance moves lately. (actually his behavior has been shaped) I think it is really cool. I’m enjoying his progression.

As time has passed since the first dance recorded in Sept 2007, it is apparent that his dancing behaviors are starting to generalize to other music groups! Thankfully, his taste in music has improved from the initial Back Street Boys to now Huey Lewis and The News. The topographies of this dance routine has changed some with the additional behaviors of head twirling and squawks. (verbal behavior) But this bird can really boogie to the dance tempo quite well.

Snowball and Huey

“Snowball doesn’t dance unless he’s inspired. Huey Lewis and the News came on the radio a few days ago and we noticed him doing a slightly different dance. So we found the CD for this song and decided to let the video roll. Towards the end of the clip, Snowball twirls his head repeatedly to the instrumental part of the song. It looks as even Snowball can get dizzy if he keeps that up for too long! Shake it off, Snowball. “

As a Behavior Analyst, I am looking forward to seeing what else transpires next. It is very obvious that music is very motivating for him. So keep on dancing Snowball !
